These are dogs that require extra love and attention in the way of various things – medical issues, special dietary needs, etc.

Molly and Chula

Molly and Chula’s owner passed away, leaving these sweet sisters homeless and very afraid. Mayte’s Rescue has had these beautiful and loving girls with us since April of 2020.

We’ve just discovered that Chula has degenerative valve disease – she will need to be on medication for the rest of her life. We need your help to keep her happy and above all healthy.

Perci and Beau

Perci and Beau are two very sweet and very senior dogs. They are rescues in every sense of the word.

Perci is 16, and Beau is 15. Perci is blind and deaf, and Beau is his cherished and bonded brother/lookout.

Senior dogs like this are very rarely adopted – but we are doing our best at Mayte’s Rescue to ensure that both Perci and Beau’s twilight years are comfortable, safe and filled with love.

Both dogs will be on medications for the rest of their years, and medicated food as well. Maintaining a good quality of life for senior dogs is pricey – and Mayte’s Rescue relies on donations and sponsorships from animal lovers to keep these beautiful old boys as contented as they can be.

Cornflake

Cornflake came to Mayte’s Rescue because his owner went into hospice care, and there was no one else to take care of him. He is 14 years old. Cornflake was going to be euthanized, but luckily Mayte’s Rescue came to his aid, and this beautiful senior dog has been with us since September of 2020.

We think Cornflake was probably hit in the head several times over the years. He struggles just simply trying to walk. But he is a sweet boy, and doesn’t hold any grudges or anger towards people – even though they weren’t very nice to him.

Cornflake will need to be on medications for the rest of his life. Mayte’s Rescue is honored to be able to provide a home for this boy in his golden years, but the reality is that it costs a lot of money to fulfill all the special needs of a dog like Cornflake.
